Cycle of wrong political choices

Category: Thoughts

I was listening to New Hampshire Public Radio yesterday - because I like knowing how liberals think - anyway I heard one of the talk show hosts say, “We may think we are electing a President, but we are really getting the President we deserve.” I was stopped in my tracks. Was this a spiritual statement coming out of a liberal mouth? Or was it merely an overconfident statement concerning their view that a liberal would finally be elected President?

It turned out to be the latter and I was back to work. However, no matter what the motive for the statement, it is still true. Unless God has mercy on us us, we will get the President we deserve. No - I am not talking conservative or liberal, conservatives can think errantly too - I am talking about just plain bad. It is a known fact that we tend to vote for people who are like us and who will let us have what we want. If our choice is elected it re-enforces our self esteem, if not then we were right and they were wrong. These days, one is guaranteed that 50% of the people or more will be with you.

The point is this, if we think errantly, we will vote errantly. The more people vote for someone who supports their errant view, the greater the likelihood we will have a President who has that same error in their thinking. When a nation serves God,the result is godly leadership comes into power. Dictators, tyrants, etc. are the result of prolonged wrong thinking, resulting in wrong choices, resulting in wrong leadership. With few exceptions, dictators come into power to meet the peoples desires, in the end the people are used to meet their desires. Anarchy is the next step in the cycle. We desperately need God’s choice for President.

Blessings,
John Paul

I do pray that the Lord leads his people to the right person. Not who we want, but WHO DOES THE LORD WANT. Father, give us ears to hear.

    God Bless

I totally agree that we need God’s choice for a President. I remember the first elections with George W. Bush, and mind our current Cheif. I needed a mind change in my process of electing I did not watch any of the speeches or news on the elections. I asked God to change my heart that year to line up with His. I knew the way I was raise and influenced when it came to politics was with much error and bad mind set. My community and family views had nothing to do with God.

So that was the beginning of a new view on my part in bringing about change in our government. First it had to start with my voting according to the mind of my Father, I needed a new mind and heart toward each candidate. It had to come from above. God did it for me. I began to have a heart for a man I was taught was treacherous and evil. I began to love him and pray for him, knowing at that moment that he was our elected president for that term and for the next. It was an amazing experience. My family was so angry they thought I’d lost my mind. I will forever be changed in my views on voting. I will now look to see each candidate from the eyes of the father and know His heart in the matter of who is to sit in that seat as chief. My prayer is that all christians began to make a Godly stand in politics, not a political stand. One that oppinion does not matter. But our vote becomes influenced by the heart and mind of Christ, the battle waging in our mind is silenced to the news and hear say of media madness in all the issues. Poppa has the answers He knows who the president is to be, to carry out His plan. The man that He has appointed for this hour, in this time. Ask Him!

Wow! I had to take a moment if all of us who proclaim Christ would vote on one accord and prayed for the elected. What an impact! That is just in one arena. Imagine if we did that in every arena. Jesus would return.

I also want to thank you for building the bridge ministry. I pray it will spread throughout the land to bring us all on one accord with Christ. There is too much seperation with in the churches(the body)we need bridges across every line and Co-oridinance.

In one line, in one mind, the mind of Christ,
    Much Love
    Ingrid

I appreciate this blog. Thank you John Paul and other contributors.

I agree that many of us want the blessings and covering of God, but do not take action to covenant with God. With this, disappointing results incur and we become discontented.

A distinguished United States Founder, Benjamin Franklin, stood up and said during an urgent assembly, “God governs the affairs of men.” It’s true. This nation was formed through divine intervention. In its infancy, this land was a refuge for emerging protest-ants who wanted to escape persecution in the church. The protestant movement flourished in the US and abroad over the course of our nation’s history, which is beautiful since countless masses have been and are being set free by bible truths. However, prophecy must be fulfilled. According to bible prophecy in Revelation, the US would appear Lamblike, but speak as a Dragon. The reality is that over a period of time worship of God has declined among liberals and conservatives in this nation as evidenced of our turning away from his covenant (In the old testament Temple, the 10 commandments were placed into the Arc of The COVENANT). To be a Christian or disciple of Jesus in the US by and large has been diminished to a proclamation and not a daily commitment that honors God’s covenant. The enemy’s sphere of influence to deceive has, of course, affected the whole world. In the book of Revelation we see an appeal for all to “…Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His Judgement has come:and worship Him that made Heaven and Earth…Babylon is fallen, is fallen… Come out of her (Babylon), my people that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.” (Rev 14:7+8, Rev 18:4+5) As we continue in our duty to God and man lets remember God’s law, the 10 commandments. Worship of the true and living God on a daily basis is what will get us through present-day trials and the tremendous trials the whole world will experience in the near future. The troubling worldwide events we see today are the beginning of sorrows (see Matthew 24:8). Mass persecution based on religion will reemerge in the church. But always remember to be strong in the battle, for the Lord is our Help.

Our choices always bring results. Sometimes we have more choices that we have answers. That is why we do not always get the desired result.

Thank you John Paul for this blog. Actually this blog about politics brings tears to my eyes. My husband and I have really been into politics this year. We realize the importance of this decision for president and it saddens my heart that we as a country have not always been open to the Lord’s leading and the Lord’s choice. I will be referring my family to this blog as a reminder to pray for God’s pick for this nation as I do believe He has one. Thank you again, and many blessings!

John Paul, you wrote: “Unless God has mercy on us us, we will get the President we deserve.” This is so true. I believe God will have mercy on us. I would love for you to look at the following website. On it you will find two videos. One is the telling of a vision from God about His Mercy and our repentance. The other video is about the confirmations to the vision. It’s so compelling. The woman on the video is Shawn-Marie Cole. She was awakened in the night in 2004 and given a vision of America repenting. In the vision, President Bush also repents. In the confirmation video you will see that God made a way for Shawn-Marie to share the vision with Pres. Bush. With tears on his face he said that he would pray about this vision. The actual day of repentance is April 26, 2008. The Washington Mall has been secured on that day. Please go to the website and pray about this. http://www.reigndownusa.com

Thank God that His mercy will reign down on us.

Thank you for your ministry in my life.
