Dark Spirituality
There is “dark spirituality” and it is a result of the continual following of a dark spirit being. To become dark, a person must leave the presence of the One God who is True, Pure Spirit and also True, Pure, Light. When the fallen spirit beings left the presence of God, they lost the Pure Light they were covered with and their light became dark. Thus to follow a pseudo spirit is to follow pseudo or dark light. Pseudo spirituality will produce dark spiritual fruit. Those who follow these spirit beings will live a darkened spiritual life. Thus Jesus said, “If the light that is within you is dark, how great is that darkness” … but, I’m getting ahead of myself.
That which is created cannot create. The best it can do is imitate, emulate, or counterfeit, but not create. There is One Creator – who is True, Pure, Spirit - God. With this understanding, we comprehend that a created spirit cannot place pure spirit within a human being. Why? You cannot place that which you do not have into another being.
To understand this we must remember that God is True, Pure, Uncreated Spirit. It is His very Spirit that He places inside of those who believe on Him through Jesus the Messiah (Christ). It is part of God’s Omnipresence as Deity. Thus God’s Holy Spirit can be both in us and not leave God’s throne. Satan, as a created, yet fallen, and deteriorating spiritual being is not omnipotent. He cannot place His spirit within another being and be present elsewhere. Another way of stating this is that he cannot be in anyone and in India at the same time. He is not Deity; he is a created spirit being and has limited abilities.
Here comes the tricky part - that which is created as a spiritual being, and is deteriorating, can influence, possess or capture a willing participant. In doing so, the created spiritual being (Satan/demons) emulates and counterfeits the action of the Holy Spirit in the Believer’s life. So Satan can have one of his minions influence, possess, or oppress a human being, a follower of him. But, neither Satan nor his minion can be present in or near someone and in another place at the same time.
Why would one accept the entrance of a demonic minion into their life? The answer rudimentarily goes back to the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. All the fruit on that tree was not evil; there was “good” fruit on there as well. However, the writer in Proverbs tells us there is a way that seems “good” or right to a man, but the end there of is death. We too often mistake ‘good” for God. It is the Holy Spirit, sent from God that leads us into all truth and helps us see the error of that which appears as being good.
Know this, the deterioration of those dark spirit beings does not stop. It continues and as they deteriorate, so will the person who follows them, accepts them, and worse yet – seeks them out. So the trail leads from darkness to gross darkness, and eventually to outer-darkness.

Thanks for the explanation of that scripture. I always wondered what Jesus meant when He talked about light being dark. Another scripture came to mind when I was contimplating what you last wrote. It was about the girl following Paul around for a couple of days declaring that what Paul was saying was true. Then, Paul cast a demon out of her….that’s scary. Some of these minions would not even be recognizable unless we have the Spirit of Wisdom. You asked “Why would one accept the entrance of a demonic minion into their life”? Are people aware of this spirit in them? Could it be invited in by pure ignorance. I know that I have been filled with the Holy Spirit, but could I have done something (smoked pot)and opened up access to a counterfeit spirit?

If the enemy cannot create, then I stand corrected, Darkness cannot create more darkness. Perhaps it is just the absence of light… or a hardness that does not allow light in.
I like how you touched on the ‘good’ side of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That is quite impressive.
I recently heard a pastor (of a church that i sometimes attend, when I want to experience charismatic religion) and the pastor said that the one verse was only 85% true. “seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” I found it quote amusing that a pastor thought the word of God was only partially true, that leaves room for a whole lot of devils. Whats more, it was a sermon based on prosperity, but all their talking was from a spiritual poverty. They were bankrupt in their spirit condition. I found it really sad as I had sat through a meeting with the pastor a few months previous to this, he was concerned about my clothing being too ‘androgenous’ though it was only because I wore bright colored clothing. (i haven’t made it a habit of wearing womans clothing.. not really into that. hahaha) It was sad and amusing all at once because I realized (before then, but it was solidified) that these renewal and revival folks were just playing a game, and that they had so many devils telling them the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ things to do, that they had missed out on the best, and the wonder and the creative amazement of God. SO when he questioned the truth of the words of God, the gospel, it made the demonic infestation and doubt plain to see. very very sad and yet this is happening all over!!
i am glad you addressed the issue of satan masquerading as the holy spirit, because you know, that is one thing I see is a real strong epidemic right now, too many can’t tell the holy spirit from a familiar spirit, and that is ’scary’ stuff to not discern..
Would you be willing to address the Law of Attraction and how this applies to the scriptures if at all? I know you mentioned on an earlier blog that created beings can not create. Since the law of attraction says what you focus on and believe in/on expands and then you therefore manifest/create that into reality I am wondering how much truth there is to this if any. Can you explain this more?
I wonder….if all created beings have a soul and a free will to make the choice to follow Christ or satan, do you believe that after they have fallen, these beings or angels could come back to Christ in full repentance and be reconciled to Him? Jesus loves all His creation and I know His blood covers all sin. Could His forgiveness even extend to those who willfully turned from Him to follow satan, if they chose to repent and be reconciled unto Him? Deep, I know, but I wonder about His love and how deep it flows.
John Paul, thank you for addressing the issue of dark spirituality. This is a topic that is near to my heart because I was involved in it for several years and I want Christians to understand this (especially since I learned most of what I did from Christians.) I was wondering if you could explain clearly what is going on in the spirit world when people talk about our body’s energy system. I have found that Christians who are involved with these things don’t takes the answer “because it’s wrong” very well. We need to understand the specifics of what is really going on when one participates in qigong, daosing, reiki, raindrop therapies, acupuncture and the rest in order for those involved with these things to hear the truth . And could you also explain your perspective on auras and what they are. Thank you!
Wow………this fits right in with what our church(Crossroads in Alaska) is learning about the Truth vs. the Lie which is the “Cosmic Battle”. Jesus came to tesify to the Truth and the Holy Spirit has shown me places in my life where I believed a lie. Now, I can counteract the Lie with the Truth in my mind. Our church is going through the Truth Project from Focus on the Family and so much of what we are discussing here is relevent. How exciting !!!! I love when messages dove-tail like that.
I would also like to ask a brief question, John Paul. In a short sentence or two, what are your thoughts on the present reformation taking place in the church today, where it is truly alive?…

I’m curious if you could clarify…are you saying that a spirit filled Christian can be possessed? I have been taught that they can be harrassed, influenced, buffeted, attacked, etc…but that a demonic spirit cannot dwell where the Holy Spirit dwells. Is this a termonology issue?
I agree with you JP of God’s omnipresence as deity. God’s Holy Spirit can be in me and at the same time be on God’s Throne.
Satan, a created being fallen, & deteriorating spitual being is not omnipotent. He can not place his spirit within another being & be present somewhere else. But what if someone whould ask the question; We are here and now dealing with demon possed person, we get a call from a neighbor at the end of the block.., “Please pray we are casting out a demon from someone!”. I am we talking about the same thing you are?
