DNA and SPIRITUAL BLESSINGS
I purposefully did not write a treatise about DNA and Sin in my last posting, one reason being I am not ready to write more deeply on the topic, yet I did want to plant the seed of thought about a potential consequence of prolonged, unaddressed sin in our lives. The verb of sin is not just about our own lives. I prefer, especially in this context, to focus on more positive and hopeful aspects of our spiritual life. There is so much to hope in, have faith in and trust in, that I love to look at the light of God’s purposes. Fear of failure is not a strong link to God – love is a strong link, in fact it is a bond.
I am a firm believer that all dark aspects of spirituality have an equal or greater origination in God’s grand design. Satan does not create; there is only one creator – God. Therefore, if curses can be passed down to the third and forth generations, then surely the passing down of blessings was God’s original intent. It could well be that DNA carries a Holy seed of light, passed down by Godly parents through the DNA. I believe it is more than patterned learning that brings our children back to the Lord when they struggle with their faith.
I am growing attached to the thought that the Apostle Paul was really on to something when he penned, “For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy” (I Corinthians 7:14). Yes, each has to make their own choices as to their belief in God, but perhaps clean DNA allows for clearer thinking? Perhaps this is what Luke meant when he wrote, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” (Acts 16:31).
Notice it was not just the children who were saved; it was also the husband and/or the wife. Indicating there is something that happens just by being around the light or presence of God in others. Is this DNA change as well? Like some of you, I have an adopted son, is this true for adopted children as well? Surely the spirit of adoptions includes the above verse.
I absolutely believe we are “procreated” again at salvation, and we have God’s DNA. However, I believe the wonderful provision of transformation rids us of a few genes that are flawed through the bloodline. Wouldn’t it be awful to be saved, but not changed, having to live like we always lived, but still going to heaven? As children of God there must be a DNA adjustment as we grow in Christ. And I agree, we do have God’s DNA inside us! Yes, He is the building block in each of our lives!
The thought, “from one of those,” on circumcision is very interesting. Yes we do change the anatomy with circumcision and I do see the parallel thought of our nature being circumcised. Very interesting.
It is clear there is growing evidence that there is a level of memory stored at the cellular level. Organ transplant patient’s craving food they never liked before, being moved by music they were never touched by before, Wearing styles of clothing they never wore before – all were likes and dislikes of the donor who gave the organ.
What if love of righteousness is stored in our cells as well? Oh well, thoughts and musings that are worth the thinking about – at least it worth it to me and my family.
Blessings,
John Paul

Absolutely! Wow– I had no idea about the organ transplant patients experiences… that is intriguing to say the least. I imagine the love of God, so pure, saturated and intense, just penetrating right through to our DNA rendering it changed forever. Just as when He said “Let there be light” and there was a vibration… Maybe the trembling we sometimes experience is just another part of our DNA being transformed. Amazing…. I am blown away by how much our minds can expand when each little piece of mystery is revealed. More Lord!!!!
maybe we should all get together then and have a DNA “harvesting”..?? You know, so we can ‘cross’-pollinate
wouldn’t that be fun?
oh wait.. i think thats what the merging and converging of fellowship is =)
haha. nice.
I guess that would explain 3rd and 4th generation preachers…and I bet there are more and diverse, righteous generations…
I guess that would also explain some of the long geneological lines written in scripture, afterall they were there for something…I wonder if there is more to those lines or not?
God Bless…
Thanks again for the thought provoking blog..I love what you said “I believe it is more than patterned thinking that brings our children back to the Lord when they struggle with their faith”..that statement alone is worth thinking about..and is full of hope! While the Lord is sovreign, we get to co-labor with Him..our prayers and our love for Him..and our childrens exposure to His light in us..what a wonderful thing! The thoughts about righteousness being stored in our cells..hmm..love that.
When a person is a pioneer in the faith..maybe the first believer in a long string of unbelievers..that is another place I trod through on occasion..a breaking of ground so to speak, for future generations, what are anyones thoughts about that? Love this blog!!!!!
This topic is far bigger than I think anyone of us imagines. My family and I went through a lot of generational curse and bondage breaking. God has also shown us where soul ties have needed to be broken. The amazing thing is it brings healing and freedom for you personally, but also for your parents even adopted parents. Science is showing that the ties between parents and adopted children can be as strong or stronger than natural parents. So in essence when a child is adopted they can get the brunt of family curses from their natural as well as the adopted. My wife and I saw things in our families back ground that needed to be cleaned up. And prayed that God would show us things that we didn’t see.
I personally do not think that it is a coincidence that family trees have become so popular. Is it possible that God is wanting us to look at the bondage that we are living under, and He is wanting us to free our families from all of the garbage that is weighing us down? People think it is a lot of bunk but it is amazing how children and family members (even siblings) change after you break things off of your family.
Persevere in God!

So if God can transform us at the DNA level, then he could certainly transform my son with the extra chromosome (Down Syndrome). Everybody pray for Asa!
Is it possible that a family tree is aka (also known as) the tree of knowledge of good and evil………….ummmmmmmmmm!
This blog is opening up alot more than meets the eye.

John Paul writes:
“It is clear there is growing evidence that there is a level of memory stored at the cellular level.”
My response:
In studying theophistic principles regarding the role that memory plays in relation to emotional and/or physical pain and its relation to trauma especially in regards to physical and/or sexual abuse victims. The dna in relation to the memory of the traumatic event produces fear in relation to the event is altered. This gets recorded into the DNA memory structure of the particular physical limb or body structure that received the blow as painful emotional memory related to anxiety. This is behind why many people are experiencing all kinds of stress related bodily and sometimes mental pain.
What happens in the present moment when an individual is triggered by environmental stimuli that was similar to environmental stimuli of the past whether internal or external is that they relive the painful event in their memory. This reliving of the event can cause emotional and/or physical pain depending upon the nature of the event and the effects that it had in the life of that individual…
It is the actual event in the present moment that acts as a trigger point and serves as a bridge between the present and past of the person’s life. This emotional smoke has the capacity to connect the present situation to past memory thru environmental cues embedded in the memory of the individual person’s in the form of body memory, the place in which the trauma was originally received.
In cases where there has been trauma that produce dissociation disoders such as multiple personality disorders, post traumatic stress disorders, and so on….the part of the body afflicted by the trauma records the fear event into the dna/memory of a particular body parts genetic structure…it has been proven through research that some forms of body pain are related to fear worry or anxiety. This is how body memory is stored and why certain diseases happens….The DNA at the cellular in the memory of the particular organ is weakened by sin in relation to trauma.
Ministering God’s light and love by asking the Lord Jesus to come into the place where the trauma originally happened (the source and origin of the original event) is the work of theophostics developed by Dr. Ed Smith of Althea Ministries.

JP,
I absolutely believe there is a physical change in us due to our relationship with God. For me to think that being born again only impacts my spirit and not even physically, is akin to a dualism that I don’t think is from God. It also I think would tend toward gnosticism, and because God loves the human body (He created it and said so in the garden), it seems in His nature to impact it physically. True, outwardly we are wasting away because of the effects of sin in this world. Yet, when someone is physically healed, surely their DNA is impacted. And as holistic beings, something can’t happen to one part of us without impacting us elsewhere. I know when I encountered God for the first ime and was forgiven of my sins against Him, I felt a weight lift off of me, emotionally and in some respects physically. I also ended up sleeping a little more initially because of weight of my guilt for my sins. Consider the issue of stress, and what that does to someone physically in a negative. So much more the positive when that happens.
Also, I believe that when scientists potentially identify genes that they say indicate that someone is a homosexual, I believe that is the same as a jet plane flying through the air and when you look up, you see the trace of the jet exhaust. In the same way, genetics are not a preceding event, resulting in homosexuality, but an evidence or track of the occurrence of it. As we know someone is not genetically homosexual because it involves choice, it could be either genetically passed down, as in a predisposition toward that particular sin, or the result of that particular sin or demonic influence. And again, if it can happen in the negative that our DNA is impacted, so much more in the positive!
Blessings

I am so glad that God has given me His DNA! I remember that, according to scripture, I am the righteousness of God. I couldn’t be that if I didn’t have God’s very essence running through my veins. I received that the moment I placed my faith in Christ!
You mentioned circumcision. I wrote about that several months ago in this post: http://www.renaebrumbaugh.com/?p=31 .
Blessings, dear brother!
